Ward Analytics Releases Performance History Database - PHD
7th Oct 2008EGHAM, Surrey - Ward Analytics, the global leader in Teradata and multi-platform performance management, today announced availability of the PHD Performance History Database.
A comprehensive and self-contained database residing on Teradata, PHD allows customers to collect and store all performance data relating to their Teradata data warehouse, including proprietary performance data not natively available within Teradata.
PHD can be seen as the data warehouse of the data warehouse, providing a foundation for quantifiably measuring performance analysis and tuning efforts and is the basis for comprehensive space and processor capacity planning. To this end, PHD includes a standard set of Extract Transformation and Load (ETL) processes as well as a regular maintenance / purge process that is implemented in over 100 macros and views.
Maintenance processes remove old PHD data that is defined as no longer needed. Other maintenance processes remove captured data from the DBC database tables to keep the duplication of data to a minimum.
